She was born in Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michelle Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson's parents were Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. She is American and is of Mexican American heritage. She has always been a sports enthusiast. Gerina took up golf when she turned 15 years old. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. As a high-school student, she had won in the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. She also played volleyball at the state level. She was a student at the University of Texas in 2003. She was the only winner of all events she took part in throughout her senior years. In her undergraduate seasons, she won as the conference's best player of year as well as UTEP Female Athletic of the Year.
