April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began taking piano and guitar lessons. It was this that ignited her love for music writing. In April, when she was 12 years old when she wrote her first single Different. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing and honed her musicianship ability. Over the next few years, she took notes together with her dad on trips to LA in addition to NY. April began also to incorporate other related topics for some of her classmates who struggle with issues such as social pressure and teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart is a partner at the well-known Clean Beauty brand Ilia and also is an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own growing following. The disability she has is part of her identity, but it's not the entire image. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on Instagram, but she doesn't make it the focus of her story. What message is it sending? The message is That we all carry many identities, we're way more diverse than we think that we're. Lockhart talks via video in Nashville. "I do not wish for it to dictate my existence. I do not want to be only recognized as an expert in disabilities. This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I go about the same way as I always do and have found different ways of adapting. In addition, I see it to be a vital part of myself. Lockhart is a true source of inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve this. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life regarding her appearance, feeling insecure at times to wear outfits that showcased her arms. It's her choice to wear what she'd like, and happily shares pictures of her dressed in her favorite outfits. She says that self-love is a process. It's hard to say if you'll ever reach the final stage. The same is true for everybody regardless of their levels of anxiety. The people around you with that truly understand you, and can see inside your soul are the best people to help you remember what you're concerned about.
